GruvenParts.com is now distributing these cast aluminum thermostat housing assemblies for all 12V VR6 engines found in Corrado, Eurovan, Golf/Jetta MK3 and Passat B3/B4 vehicles. This part replaces thermostat housing P/N 021-121-117A (021121117A), adapter P/N 021-121-133D (021121133D), and thermostat cover P/N 021-112-121A(021112121A).

This cast thermostat housing assembly includes the main thermostat housing with an integrated crackpipe adapter section and a cast aluminum thermostat cover. All new mounting fasteners, O-rings, and clips are included to complete your installation.

This cast aluminum thermostat assembly will mate up with the GruvenParts.com billet crack pipes - buy them as a set and save $$ ! You can also choose to buy a new 80C or low temp 70C thermostat with thermostat O-ring.

NOTE: VR6 housings are individually machined and cleaned of burrs and sharp metal edges from the casting process. Your flange may differ slightly from the photos shown. We do not machine these in house. As such, you can expect the cosmetic look and feel of the part to NOT be what you typically see from GruvenParts. We have no control over the casting process and some of these castings will require a bit of cleaning up if you want to make them show car worthy. They function just fine but they dont look the best.

Robust quality part for a good price for an older vehicle!

VERY happy that Gruven continues to support our older VWs like my VR6 Corrado with great parts like this! My thermostat housing was replaced with a factory part only 5 years ago and it already began failing. Having the aluminum replacement that will last much longer is crucial for preserving my classic ride. Thank you for keeping us on the road!

dont like plastic parts

Cure what ails you. This setup does just that. Did a mock up everything fits just right. Did a little sanding and the housing is ready for paint and the crack pipe looks great. Comes with everything. Though the car is still being put together I am confident this area will no longer be a concern. Much thanks!

Cast Alloy Thermo housing VR6

Nice product that with the Alloy water pipe, make this a one off job. Fits perfectly.Although mating flanges on cast housing were machined well, there was still a fair bit of flashing on the casting that I had to removed by hand. Not the end of the world and maybe wont bother everyone. I had mine powder coated and it looks great. Would recommend these parts to any serious VR6 owner. Thank you Paul :-)

all good! fits my 99 m3 golf gti perfectly. dont want to be doing all that work to get to the problem and then find out it doesnt fit. but this is a great oem replacement

I was hesitant on buying this because I heard a few people say it doesn't fit right on the engine block. Well, I decided to go for it anyway. Sure enough, if fit perfectly. In fact, the Samco hoses slid on much easier than the plastic ones. No leaks at all. This is one less component of the VR6 I don't have to worry about. -- response -- Thanks Dennis. Can you let me who reported issues with the fitment ? I have been using this on my VR6 for several years with no issue at all. Thanks for the review !

High quality, great fitment with the Gruven crackpipe. Haven't put too many miles on it. But so far no leaks, and no problems!

Very happy with this. Looks great, comes in sand blasted finish which I plan on powder coating. Has all the needed hardware and gaskets neatly packaged, even o rings for the sensors. Shipped to me in timely fashion to boot. Thx gruven!
