GruvenParts.com is pleased to announce the release of our MKIV VW Golf/Jetta 1.8T and Audi A3, TT MK1 1.8T Billet Y Pipe to replace the plastic OEM fitting found on hose P/N 1J0-122-109AQ.

The OEM plastic Y connector used in this hose has an important task : it connects the coolant reservoir outlet to the turbocharger, with a 3rd connection for the inlet coolant supply. However, due to its location near the turbocharger and hot exhaust manifold, the plastic fitting within the hose quickly dries out and snaps. Just because its a small fitting doesn't mean it wont cause big problems. When it breaks, your engine will experience rapid loss of coolant which can turn your screaming 1.8T into a paperweight.

The GruvenParts.com billet 1.8T Y Pipe is machined from Aircraft Grade Stainless Steel, precision bent on a CNC tube bender, then precision welded and pressure tested. You could park the car on this one and it will not break !

This billet 1.8T Y Pipe is intended to replace the plastic Y fitting in hose OEM P/N 1J0-122-109AQ on the following vehicles :

1999 - 2006 Audi TT mk1 (AUM/AUQ/ARY)
1996 - 2003 Audi A3 mk1 (AGU/ARZ/ARX/AUM/AJQ/APP/ARY/AUQ)
2000 - 2006 VW Golf/ GTI/ Jetta/ Bora mk1 (AUM/AUQ/AGU/AWD/AWP/AWW)
1999 - 2006 SEAT León mk1 (AJQ/APP/ARY/AUQ/AMK)
-any other model that calls for PN: 1J0122109AQ

I have a 2004 GLI. This part replaced a stock part that was a brittle plastic piece and after time can break or leak from the high heat treatment it goes through every time you drive with passion. The headache to have plastic oem 'Y'

Hello us followers of 1.8t vw takes away a headache to change this oem "Y" plastic that of s / s as the heat and the start time and leave us on the road and the cost of the tow is double or triple the cost of this is of s / s my step and why I want to change it for one of higher quality than oem.

This part replaced the plastic stock piece. 2 months in and no problems! And it looks good. >>Response from Gruven<< Thanks for the review ! Please post up some pictures in the forums, we have found lots of people with similar issue using the plastic part, so this will be a big help! a fantastic part looks stock but is much better

The factory one broke and two weeks into a new factory one it broke again. But luckily there is someone smArt enough to not use plastic on a part in that area >>Response from Gruven<< Thanks Nathan for this review. We have had so many owners contact us about the plastic OEM version of this part, we had to do something. Ours is made from stainless with barbed fittings, professionally welded, and then 100 % pressure tested before shipping. You wont have to deal with this problem again, ever !! I think you could also drive the car over our version, but save that for the plastic 1 you yank out. Let us know what else we can build properly for these cars -- Paul@GruvenParts.com
