Description

Schukra Electric Lumbar Support Repair: Brass Pinion Gears & Drive Wheels

Stop paying for expensive, failure-prone OEM lumbar replacement units. Fix your electric cable-driven lumbar support mechanism permanently with our high-strength Brass gears and polymer drive wheels.

The electric cable-driven lumbar support mechanisms (Schukra 2016901/2016902) found in many GM, Ford, Honda, Acura, and RAM vehicles rely on a fragile plastic planetary gear system. Over time, these small plastic gears shatter, rendering your lumbar support useless. GruvenParts provides the permanent solution: high-strength components built to outlast the factory design.

Gear Kits for Schukra Power Lumbar

Posted by Tom Howton on 19th Feb 2025

Brass gears and drive spools work perfectly to replace flimsy OEM plastic gears. I would only caution to make sure there are no other issues before ordering these great parts. I failed to see that one of my cables was shredded. Haven’t found any other parts than Gruven for the Schukra lumbar units.

Fix for Schukra Lumbar Actuator 2016801 2007 Ford Explorer

Posted by Paul Fithian on 31st Jan 2025

Permanent fix for the broken planetary gears on these Schukra units. Very hard to get to this part buried inside the upholstery on the seat back. Be sure to replace the drive wheel also, the OEM one on mine showed a crack that was beginning, likely this would have failed also.

    lumbar support motor

Posted by Unknown on 24th Sep 2024

I only needed the lumbar support drive gear. The part was very easily installed and it is much beefier than the factory part. This is a great fix, and anybody having issues with thier motors should order these parts. Thank You, the motor works great.

    Schukra 2016901

After checking with my local Canadian Acura dealer for lumbar support parts (priced at $1373.29 ), I checked the motor-driven mechanism. I found the name Schukra on it, bringing me to your site where you offered an upgraded kit of 3 brass gears and 1 drive wheel for $79.00. I've received the parts which took a couple of weeks, but the money saved was worth the wait . Thank you, the lumbar works very nicely (A happy customer). Roland

    does the job

I was finally able to fix my lumbar support motors with these kits. I removed the rivets and used an m6x12mm bolt and prevailing nut to replace each rivet. Now it works great. This kit doesn't come with the outer ring gear, but mine had a nice chunk missing out of it and it worked fine with the new brass gears. The brass gears will work with the up/down adjustment as well, but the drive gear will not. I did have a few issues at first, but Paul was able to help me solve them.

    do not hesitate

I went through the junk yard suffering from vehicle to vehicle trying to get the 3 small gears for the lumbar support. I replaced the trio of gears 3x before I pulled the trigger on Gruven’s indestructible lumbar kit. Do not second guess yourself if you need to replace. My 07 Silverado is like brand new again.
