Bought the kit, and with a lot of head scratching and trial and error I got the mirror repaired. Works like a champ.

    Well built. Delivered quickly.

Haven't used them yet because I am not sure enough of the mirror disassembly to risk a repair till I get better directions. I can find no instructions on how to disassemble to repair the folding mechanism.

    2012 F250 Passenger Mirror

Posted by Stephen Ross on 21st Oct 2022

Thanks to Paul for his support, I ordered the 2 motors and gears for the passenger mirror. Did not need the gears after all (the original gears were already metal and good) , just the motors. Installed the motors today. Works great, faster than the driver side mirror. The only thing I could say is to post more pictures of the products. Great customer service. Will use again. Thank You Steve

    Amazing product!

The machine work on these gears and shafts were top notch! I was able to fix my folding mirror at a much lower cost than from the dealer and it won't break again like the original plastic gears. The instructions were a little confusing at times and I had to watch a couple of YouTube videos to explain things a little better. Its a lot of intricate work on fairly delicate parts but I was able to get through it without breaking anything. If you take your time and don't rush, it can be done. The second mirror will be much easier now that I know how to do it. Thank you for machining such a quality product.

    That was TOUGH

Posted by Grote on 4th Apr 2022

Holy Moly! I've been doing auto trim work-some professionally- for nearly 40 years, and that was rough! Bottom line-- I saved over $1,000. Line above that-- this repair is not for someone who does not have a real toolbox, knowledge, and instinct. Over 6 hrs for 1st mirror. Instructions are iffy- watch a lot of YouTube. Go slooooowwwww on disassembly. My gears were not broken, but motors were dead. I wish someone would sell a good video to Gruven for this Ford SD tow mirror repair. I fretted for 2 years about this repair and the end result was it worked. Thumbs up, but this repair is NOT for a novice. I broke 2 plastic pieces, but so far that has not affected the finished product. 2011 F350 King Ranch power fold, power telescope, heated, memory. God Bless the USA!

    2016 F250 power mirror

Posted by Don on 1st Mar 2022

Update my review, had some problems with the gear parts. However with cleaning up the spiral gear with stainless wire brush and emery cloth and using a good Synthetic grease, I used prematex I was able to get the the motors and gears working.

perfot fit a little louder then OEM

Posted by Unknown on 28th Mar 2021

Parts fit great motors make a lot of noise and moves faster than OEM. Do you guys know why once I install the one mirror drivers side the telescoping feature didn’t work on either one and the passenger side wasn’t touched. Thanks --response -- Thanks for the review. The gears may make a bit more noise being metal on metal vs metal on plastic but they should break in. Also some white paste lithium grease will quiet it down too. As for the power extend not working on the opposite side ... No I cant think of any reason working on the driver side would influence passenger side. I will say that its VERY common for the OEM power extend motors to fail. I would be replacing power extend motors with the power fold gears/motors since the labor overlaps. You will need to access that unit and see whats going on, bench test OEM motor. I bet its just given up the ghost, they all do at some point... Paul@GruvenParts.com
