Much Better Than Buying Another Mirror

The motor and gear supplied by GruvenParts is far better, faster, and has more torque than the original motor. Someone jammed my mirror inward (not the direction it folds) in a parking lot and broke the plastic gear. Before spending an obscene amount of money on a new mirror, I bought this to attempt to fix it myself. It was a pain to breakdown the metal motor housing in my 2015 Ram Sport, but after everything was done it was definitely worth the trouble. I would recommend having a vice, 1" socket (or something similar) and a pair of small channel lock pliers to compress the spring and orient the collar where it comes apart.

Excellent Fix For a Faulty Mirror

Ordered the complete motor unit for the driver side mirror on my Ram 1500.. Following the instructions posted on the website, replacement was easy and took about 45 minutes to complete. The new motor is a little noisier, but it works flawlessly. I highly recommend this fix for the faulty mirror motor that FCA puts in their trucks.

Can't Believe How Well It Worked!

I saw the Gruven replacement gear and motor for the Ram 1500's on one of the forums. Mine had obviously gone out and I was not willing to pay the exorbitant amount of money for a shop to do the work. I ordered the parts, they came in two days later, and when I was ready to begin, I realized I really needed a step-by-step guide so I didn't cause more damage. I emailed your Guven help center and Paul was quick to send me the link to your step-by-step guide. Paul was awesome and helpful. I dove into the project, and to my disbelief, when I got to the step that said I should see the broken gear, I looked and there it was, the broken gear!!! You guys know your business, and I can't say enough great things. I put it back together, and again to my disbelief, it works perfectly now. Many thanks for what you do.

Runs little bit loud. Sounds like a grinding noise but it works. Installation is bit tricky when it comes to proper alignment but after all it worked. Im satisfied.

Gear and Motor replacement

I ordered the metal gear and Motor replacement set for both mirrors on my 2014 Ram 1500 4x4. The original gears were plastic and both had cracked causing my electric close mirrors to not work. The installed perfectly and are working great. The motor's seem to be heavy duty as the mirrors close and open much faster than the oem motors, it's a plus in my book.
