This is the door lock actuator product page for the 2014+ newest GM vehicles. Please reference the applicable models below.
As many of you already know, the door lock actuators in your 2014+ GM vehicle are very unreliable. Most units suffer motor failures which can make locking and unlocking the vehicle very cumbersome. GruvenParts.com has been repairing the faulty GM door lock actuators since 2010. Our new motor is a reliable high torque design with factory correct wiring inputs. Our motor has passed rigorous 35,000 lock/unlock cycle testing runs conducted continuously over the span of 2 full weeks.
This motor is sold by itself and requires the re-use of the factory plastic worm gear. This worm gear can easily be removed from the old motor and placed onto our replacement motor. No bonding or press fit is required. Removal / installation of this motor is much easier than in the pre 2014 models. The actuators can be easily disassembled and the old motor can easily be lifted out of the unit. There is no drilling or tapping required on these 2014+ units.
There is absolutely NO reason to buy a complete GM unit to fix your door locks ! It is very easy to take apart these 2014+ actuators and replace the only discrepant part - the faulty motor. These units are assembled using simple torx screws and come apart very quickly to replace the motor.

Purchased this around 6 months ago now and it fixed all my issues with unreliable door locks. Process was easy and done in less than 20 min. If you have some basic mechanical skills you should be able to preform this repair yourself. Saved over $400 doing it myself.

This is the 4th door lock motor I have purchased from Gruvenparts, all for the same vehicle. Each of the factory door lock motors on my 2014 Silverado 1500 have crapped out almost exactly a year apart from each other. All of the motors from Gruvenparts are still working flawlessly. If you own a GM product, do yourself a favor & go ahead & buy all 4 door lock motors. It's not a matter of of, but when they go out.

Buying this replacement actuator motor is a lot cheaper than buying the entire actuator! I was searching all over for a rear passenger side lock actuator for my 2014 Silverado and couldn't find one that was less than $150. Between the Gruven photos and 1AAuto video on YouTube, I was able to disassemble my door, replace the motor, and reassemble the door in no time! Everything works perfectly and I couldn't be more pleased with the part I ordered from Gruven!

This is a great little replacement. Motor, door works flawlessly and seems to have more torque. The only problem I had was reassembly, gears jumped teeth, but I saw that they are labeled L and R, so I was able to realign the timing marks and get it working again.

I have used these motors to replace in both my rear actuators. They fit perfect and are very reliable. I definitely would recommend this option over spending more than $200 on a new actuator.

This is the second upgraded part I've ordered from Gruvenparts. The first was the upgraded spur gear and motor for the folding mirror. Their parts have been top notch. This motor went right in and fixed the door lock I was having issues with once I got the actuator out of the door. Be warned, the procedure to take the actuator out of the door is involved. The whole process took me a total of 4 hours, only about 10 minutes was actually replacing the motor. Theres a youtube video on how to remove actuator from door. Once its out, it takes a few minutes to swap the motor out, and that is all that goes wrong.

Was able the complete to job with the help of 1auto.com video and pictures from Gruvenparts not near as hard as I thought it might be. Just thinking what's the difference in the motors for each door?

Gruven electric motors for failed lock actuators vs buying new actuators is definitely a money saver. Even more savings for DYI guys. In the case of my 2014+ Silverado, a replacement actuator was nowhere to be found except a salvage yard. Your model may be available, but be prepared to pay $150 -250. My Gruven motor cost me $30 and they supplied excellent videos showing how to replace it.
